Performance and Maintenance

Factors Affecting Graphic Performance:

  • Substrate preparation and quality.
  • Environmental conditions, including UV exposure and weathering.
  • Proper cleaning and maintenance practices.

Cleaning Instructions:

  • Use non-abrasive, solvent-free cleaners.
  • Matte finishes may require more frequent maintenance and careful handling to prevent scratches.
  • For glossy finishes, avoid excessive heat during cleaning.

Removal: The film can be removed with heat and/or chemicals. However, care must be taken if applied over non-original or damaged paint.

Important Installation Notes

  • Film Orientation: When working with metallic or glitter finishes, ensure consistent orientation to avoid visible variations.
  • Surface Sensitivity: Matte finishes are more susceptible to dirt and scratches. Marks can often be minimized with gentle heating.
  • Stretching and Heating: Stretch glitter and metallic films uniformly under slight heat to maintain consistency in appearance.
  • Paint Compatibility: Only apply to undamaged OEM paint. For non-OEM or damaged paint, installation is at the installer's discretion.

Warranty and Technical Guidance: Consult Hexis for specific warranty details and regional guidance.

  • Conformability and Ease of Installation: Designed for full wraps and highly contoured surfaces, the structured adhesive ensures quick and easy application with reliable air egress.

  • Durable Construction: Multi-layer cast vinyl with a thickness of 3.94 to 4.33 mil (0.100–0.110 mm).

  • Structured Adhesive: Bubble-free results with faster application.

  • Solvent-based acrylic adhesive for immediate and permanent adhesion, fully optimized after 24 hours.

  • Surface Finishes: Available in Gloss and Matte, suitable for different aesthetic preferences.

  • Resistant to Solvents: Adhesive resists most alcohols, fuels, oils, and diluted acids.

  • Wide Durability Range: With vertical exposure, the film lasts up to 6 years for white/black colors and up to 4 years for metallic finishes.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Will Vinyl Wrap protect my car from scratches?

Yes, it can protect your paint from light abrasions such as tree branches and some stone chips.

If you are looking to protect your car then you may be looking for paint protective film (PPF) this is a different product to vinyl wrap.

How long does vinyl wrap last for?

Much like paint, if you leave your car out in the sun all day every day, the vinyl wrap can deteriorate within the first year after installation. If you look after the film by avoiding long UV exposure and maintaining it then you can get up to 8 years out of it.

Will vinyl wrap damage my paint?

No, genuine branded vinyl wrap in most cases will protect your paint from general wear and tear.

How will I know when the vinyl wrap has to be removed?

You will notice the film becomes quite faded and in some cases may begin to crack or flake. It is highly recommended to remove the film before the deterioration continues otherwise the removal process will become more tedious and time consuming.

How do I maintain my vinyl wrap?

It is recommended to keep the film washed and clean while only using PH neutral car wash products and avoid rough physical washing processes such as an automatic car wash.

What is PPF?

PPF stands for Paint Protection Film. It is a clear, durable, and flexible polyurethane film designed to protect a vehicle's paint from damage. It serves as a protective layer against scratches, rock chips, road debris, insect stains, and environmental contaminants like UV rays and acid rain.

PPF is specifically designed to protect paint from hard abrasions.
